Early application is essential. Interviews for recruitment to the September 2010 Course will take place between December 2009 and April 2010.

Essential Entry Requirements:
You need to:
- hold a degree of a United Kingdom Higher Education Institution or equivalent qualification
- have achieved grade C or above in GCSE English or equivalent
- have achieved grade C or above in GCSE mathematics or equivalent
- have achieved grade C or above in GCSE science or equivalent
- communicate clearly and grammatically in written standard English
- have experience of working with children in schools or in more informal settings
- convey enthusiasm and commitment to teaching
- articulate clear and appropriate reasons for wanting to teach primary aged pupils
- show awareness of aspects or issues related to primary school education
- identify a range of personal strengths relevant to primary school teaching
- demonstrate the skills of reflection and analysis
- have a strong recommendation to train as a primary school teacher from an appropriate referee
- have a good academic record at secondary education or beyond
- meet the Secretary of State’s requirements for physical and mental fitness to teach
- never have been excluded from teaching or working with children
- declare any criminal background which might prevent employment as a teacher or working with children or young persons
